"Breaking News !!"......

Hello Everyone

Summer is finally here and with the warm weather comes a busy schedule for us and our band.

We had a great time at the Pavilion Theatre in Kamloops with Roy Forbes and Bill Henderson. Blu and I played an opening set and then sat down and enjoyed Roy and Bill.

They are such awesome songwriters, guitar players and entertainers. Kamloops was lucky to have these legends play there, as it was the only concert they gave this year while they were up for the annual Songwriters Intensive Workshops presented by the George Ryga Centre in Summerland.

The Ryga Centre is the late playwrights' house and is managed and operated by Ken Smedley as a writers retreat and workshop venue. It is a wonderful resource and Blu & I have both had the privilege of working with Ken and several of the touring artists who regularly come to the Okanagan to perform in support of the Ryga Centre including Valdy, Gary Fjellgaard, Todd Butler, Ken Hamm. Lorne Elliot, Allen Dobb and many others. We all recognize the need for a place like the Ryga Centre and are happy to do what we can to ensure it continues to exist. You can help support the centre while enjoying a wonderful evening of entertainment by attending the 5th annual Ryga Award ceremonies for Social Awareness in B.C. Writing and Publishing, on Saturday July 26th @ 8:00pm at the Vernon Powerhouse Theatre. Todd Butler will be this years "featured performer". If you would like more information contact Ken at kens@cablelan.net.

Silvercreek trio played the Mainstage at the Life & Arts Festival in Kelowna on May 10th and Blu did a guitar clinic with Todd Butler and Brad Prevedoros earlier in the afternoon.

It is a really great festival and we wonder why more people don't come out and take in all the wonderful artists. If you live in the Okanagan, put it on your calendar for next year. Fantastic way to spend time with your friends and family while supporting the arts.

The full band headed to Mara at the end of May for a Mara Hall Concert. We had a blast and Gord was even more animated than usual (must of drank too much coffee!)

We love playing these community halls. It is heart warming to see these beautiful halls filled with music and people. Thank you to Di and everyone who worked so hard to make the evening a success and to our friends and fans who came out to support us. You guys are the greatest!

Blu is now endorsing Sohn stringed instruments www.mandolinmaker.com. David builds beautiful handmade mandolins, guitars and banjos. Just ask Blu when you see him!

We just got back from the "Backyard Swing Festival" showcase in Calgary at Mike MacLeods' home and music store. We were overwhelmed by Mike and Jos' hospitality and the incredible little Festival that they host. Jo spent the whole time we were there preparing the most scrumptious culinary delights and refreshments that seemed never ending and Mike had the festival running like a well oiled machine. It was amazing to see him talking to everyone, listening to the music, opening wine and generally being the perfect host while his house and yard were overflowing with people listening to music, laughing, eating and drinking and his music store was filled with people jamming. Mike and Jo are two of the most gracious, generous people I have ever met and it is a real privilege to have had the opportunity to close the festival and spend some time with these wonderful people.

If you are looking for a quality acoustic instrument, make sure you check out his website www.acousticguitar.net.

Upcoming gigs for us this summer include The Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival where Blu will be hosting The Shuswap Showcase, featuring several of the best musicians in the area. With such an amazing number of talented people around the Shuswap, it was really difficult for him to choose four for the showcase. Silvercreek will also be doing a Saturday set and a pre-festival set on Thursday the 14th. We're also playing The Squilax Music Festival, The Chase Centennial Celebrations, A concert at The Rotary Centre For The Arts in Kelowna, Miyazaki Heritage House Concert in Lillooet, and concert appearances in Kamloops (Riverside Park & MacDonald Park), Kelowna (Guisachan Park & Kerry Park), Salmon Arm (Marine Park) and Enderby (Belvedere Park) and of course the Sorrento Bluegrass Workshops.

If you're at any of these events, come on up and say Hey!

Our New Cd is coming along nicely and will be out in time for The Roots and Blues Festival in August. We're really excited about it as the whole band is involved in this one. The energy is terrific, we're having a ball recording it and it shows!

Keep safe this summer and keep on pickin' and grinnin'.
